The Right To Bear Arms Or Form Neighborhood Watch Groups:

GUYANA:

We have been experiencing a dramatic rise in criminal activities, murder, rape, and other brutal incidences within our communities.

Hitherto, we expected the Police to respond to calls promptly, pursue suspects expeditiously, and subsequently bring them to Justice. But this traditional responsibility of our institutionalized Police Force has waned to the point of a total lack of Police Protection PERIOD.

The Police in recent decades have been used by the political administration in power to rig elections, kill opponents, kill escaped prisoners of all persuasions, and used for Internal Oppression by the state.

So what is the solution?

Several applicable solutions are listed hereunder:

a. Organize Neighborhood Watch Groups to protect one's immediate environment.

b. These can be residents who are willing to volunteer time to keep watch during the night. And report any abnormal activity, or trouble seeking stranger/s in the neighborhood, or even apprehend and hold any criminal, terrorist, or individual who is hell bent on disturbing the peace in that neighborhood, until the police arrives.

b. Of course, these Neighborhood Watch groups MUST work in co-operation with the Police Station in their neighborhoods, get the necessary approval, advice, and emergency mobile radios, to keep when on neighborhood duty.

c. This idea can be discussed with the City Police departments, and/with the approval of the Ministry/Minister Of Home Affairs too.

All of the above ideas MUST be considered in order to assist our local Police, and help us all be safe in our Homes, Neighborhoods, and Public spaces.

Guyana Govt Sabotage Int’l Year Of African People!

ATTENTION:

Incidentally, Guyanese of African descent are not AFRICANS (per se). So let this be clearly spelled out for those who use this description for political reasons.

Secondly, Afro-Guyanese is a term coined during the quest in the 1960's and subsequently, for people of African descent, or Blacks, to understand their place, and reality as an ethnic group, who invariably were relegated to the lowest round of the economic ladder in most countries where they are people of African descent. The USA is a case in point.

So what the Jagdeo administration seem to be doing is not new to us Blacks or Guyanese of African descent. It may serve the Jagdeo administration's interest currently to do so. But with time the pendulum will surely shift.

We have suffered as a people for decades, in fact, centuries. But we have eventually prevailed.

Finally, no one can speak for Blacks anywhere, but Blacks themselves. Many have tried to label us, to categorize us, to remake our history, and to make us feel we are inferior. But our collective history and record proves them all wrong. We understand their fears, envy, and inferiority of us as a people.

They are compelled to, by virtue of their actions in the past towards us. And they probably feel that there will come a time when they will pay dearly for those wicked things they did to us as a people.

Black people everywhere MUST stand up for their collective rights, demand respect, Civil and Human Rights like everybody else does. Until we do so collectively, those that strive to divide us will succeed.

Holding Our Political Leadership Accountable After The National Election!


Guyanese, it is time you get the message. And that message is the following.

* Whoever wins the general election this year 2011, (and I hope it is Brigadier David A. Granger), has to acknowledge that he is beholden to all Guyanese.

* That he is employed by all Guyanese, and his salary, and those of his administrators will be paid by Guyanese tax payers.

* And that we do not want any re-treads, or any of those individuals who was a part of the Burhnam, Jagan, and Baldeo legacy within the new political administration (PERIOD).

* And that we (Guyanese) at home and abroad will be monitoring all that they do from day one. And will be informing (the Administration), and ourselves about methods, and actions to be used if and when necessary, to ensure that our collective wishes are met.

These are our expectations going forward in the future after the general election is concluded, and the new administration is sworn into office.

FURTHERMORE, No one will be excluded from our engagement, observation, accountability, and transparency either.

We also need the new administration to work towards the provision of Fibre Optic Internet Access for all Guyanese throughout the length and breadth of Guyana. Because most Guyanese do not have access to the Internet, or cannot afford access to it.

Resulting in them being mis-informed, mislead, and specially targeted by the political administration in office currently. By virtue of their political control, coercion, and influence of the local media.

This cannot be tolerated in any Democratic society, or any society that believes in TRUE Democracy, that purports to ensure there is Freedom Of Speech, via All media outlets, Freedom Of Expression on the Streets, Press, Internet, Radio, and Television.

This is our Resolve and Expectation going forward henceforth!

TIME TO RID GUYANA OF MOB RULE.
Time To Take Out The Trash!

The State is in dire need of Competent, Educated, Skillful, Reliable, Honest, And Accountable Administrators.

For too long we stood by and allowed those we elected to administer the state to Do As They Please. And they did what they pleased for themselves, their buddies, and their cronies.

The time has come to "Take Out The Trash," Make A Clean Sweep, and Remove The Dead Wood.

Brigadier David A. Granger is just the man for the job. He has the Integrity, recorded and un-disputed Service to this nation. He is a son of Guyana, and have lived, seen, done, and experienced all that has led us up to this point in our collective history.

Let us give David Granger the chance to make things right for ALL Guyanese once again.

Let us get out on election morning feeling that we have finally got what we were hoping, waiting and dreaming for. To bring us back from the brink of International Isolation, Disrespect,and Distrust.

What Should Be The GDF/Army's Role In Civil Society?

Historically, most armies were created to defend one's Territorial Sovereignty or Territories.
But in times of Civil Unrest, the army was very often called in to put down insurrectionists when the Local Police could not do so.

But armies are trained to kill the enemy, and when the enemy is in the confines of your own borders, or are your citizens. How would the army respond, in cases where they have to shoot to kill?

Global Terrorism:

Terrorism have become a global specter, and most countries today are impacted by some of these terrorist activities, with some of their own citizens involvement with executions.

So what part will the army play in preventing or removing terrorists?

Most countries have Special Forces to deal with such matters. Most of whom are trained by the army or military, in the methods of combat, persuasion, surveillance, and surprise attacks.

Some countries are able to do so effectively and successfully with these Swat Teams. But others also need the help, or work in collaboration with the Local Police, and Army. This can sometimes ruffle feathers about Jurisdiction, Control, and overall Co-ordination.

What will Be the Role Of GDF/Army Under Your Presidency?

In most countries, the Head Of State, is also The Commander In Chief of The Armed Services. In Guyana, the GDF is under the control or purview of the president of Guyana. If he/she is Commander In Chief, and I sincerely hope that our National Constitution makes provision for this role. He/she MUST understand what is at stake if or when Internal Terrorist Activities gets out of control to a point, where the army may have to intervene to put it down.

Also bearing in mind that this is not the principal role of the army. But it MUST work alongside the Police and other Security Agencies in combating this terror.

And also the Army cannot be the institution to oversee the combating of terror solely. But must work in conjunction with the Police, and the Minister of Home Affairs. And at some point, the Army MUST be told to extricate itself from this activity, when it is no longer necessary for them to assist in that endeavor.

These things can only happen in a TRUE Democratic system, that respects Equality under the Law, Freedom of Speech via the Internet, and other media. And Freedom to Dissent peacefully against the political elected in government.

And finally, the insistence for Transparency and Accountability for ALL elected officials.
